Angleton First Assembly of God

In this 2nd message of our 'World Series', Pastor Kile Bateman shares from First Corinthians 3, where Paul tells us that we are God's field, God's building. We are His dwelling place. We are where He sows His seeds and dreams His dreams.

The baseball glove is useless on the shelf, but it becomes very useful when it has a helping hand. So it is with us. We become effective for the work of God when His hand is on our life. It's Him in us that makes the difference!

This message is from the archives. When my four kiddos were younger, my wife and I took them to the county fair. We had a good time, and I picked up a few life lessons while there!

Sadly, a large percentage of the Christian population won't take time to vote in the upcoming election. Some claim there isn't a suitable candidate. This message takes a look more at the policies of each party contrasted with the Word of God.

In John, chapter 8, we see a link with truth and freedom. And truth, of course, is determined by God. The connection is significant. If we want to hang on to our freedom, we have to get back to truth and to God's way of doing things.

When we dismiss God's Word as the standard for morality we open the door for everyone to have their own truth. Right and wrong are determined by the wisdom of man and varies from one person to another. This invites all kinds of problems.

In the book of Ephesians, Paul speaks of a spiritual battle, one of good and evil. This battle is very real, and though unseen, the fallout from this warfare is easily visible. The signs are all around us, and they continue to become more intense.

The first chapter of Genesis is all about the good created by God. In chapter 2, there is a choice of good and evil. The tempter shows up in Chapter 3. Adam and Eve yield to his words, and good times are ruined. Everything changes.

Adam and Eve were naked and didn't know - until they ate of the forbidden tree. "Their eyes were opened" and everything changed. This message tells of other sudden shifts in life, particularly when one comes into relationship with Jesus.

Dave Roever, with much transparency, shares parts of his story and some of the lessons learned through struggle and suffering. His wife, Beth, shares some of her story as well. Like Dave, she has scars also - on the inside. Great message!
