9.25.22 The Storms of Life

When it comes to the storms of life, they can come for different reasons. Some are our own fault. Others are not. This message identifies four different storms, and each one calls for a different response.

The Sermon on the Mount is found in Matthew 5, 6 and 7. It's 111 uninterrupted verses of Jesus teaching and laying down truths to help us better live life. Those who follow are likened unto a wise man. To ignore them is foolish.

In a recent speech, our President said, "Too much of what's happening in our country today is not normal." I agree. We need to get back to normal, but the problem is determining what is and isn't normal. Who decides?

For me to love the way God has called me to love, it's going to take a better me. Same with you. We need a better version of ourselves to fulfill the things that God has asked of us. We must grow!

8-28-22 You Can Live a Godly Life!

It's easy to quit. The enemy would love to convince you that you'll never get the victory. Truth is - it can be tough to overcome. But also true - it can be done! Success is usually little by little. Give a listen, and start moving that way today!

8-21-22 Trust and Obey

Trust and Obey - These two words are linked. Obedience proves our trust, and is to our advantage. God's not bossing us around for His own ego. He's leading us for our good. There is added blessing on the other side of our obedience.

Rules are about guidelines and boundaries, both necessary and good. But when the rules are over-bearing or over emphasized, they can cause problems in our relationships. Rules, yes - but also mercy, grace and love!

Most people understand what it is for the Lord to bless them, but what does it mean for us to bless Him? It's good to know because blessing the Lord is an antidote to an all-too-common disease we can pick up if we're not careful.

"All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful . . ." Paul said this a long time ago. What about today? Is God's Word still useful, or is it out of step with the times in which we live? Is it still a trustworthy standard to measure right and wrong?
