Life is filled with fortunately and unfortunately, but for those who belong to Him, we can know that even the unfortunate works for our good. May the Lord help us maintain a positive outlook in our more challenging seasons.

Salvation is a gift you receive. You don't work for it or earn it. Discipleship, however, will take some effort on your part. Salvation is instant. Discipleship is ongoing. As followers of Jesus, there are some things we can do in order that we might climb higher with Him.

Isaiah tells us God's thoughts are higher than ours. Some take this to mean that God is simply beyond us, and His ways are unknown to man. Surely, God is beyond us, but I see this verse as a call to think in a better way, to lift our thinking to another level. His Spirit is the key and the avenue in which we access the thoughts and ways of God.

Is it possible that we are at times the cause of some of the delay in our lives? Do we sometimes tie God's hands? At the same time, God will use every season of our lives to develop us and build us - even those that we may have put ourselves in with questionable decisions.

When it comes to prayer, we will always have those needs that we ask God to meet. There's absolutely nothing wrong, and our Father has given us this privilege. But I also believe that there  are some things we need to speak to rather than pray about. This is where the Sword of the Spirit comes into play.

Hebrews 4:12 tells us the Word of God is sharper than a two-edged sword. It's also likened unto a sword in the book of Ephesians. The Bible is more than just a normal book. It's a weapon of warfare for fighting spiritual battles. But like any weapon, we must learn to use it. 

1-19-20 Climbing with Jesus

In Matthew 5, we see where Jesus climbed a mountain to get away from the crowd for awhile. It says that the committed climbed with Him. Because of that, they received a special session with added insight from the Lord. There's a benefit to climbing with Jesus!
