Happy 250th birthday to America!! This message focuses on three things that have contributed to the freedom we have in our nation. May it continue!!

Luke's gospel tells us Jesus came to seek and save the lost. The word 'save' means rescue or deliver. For those who aren't saved, it is their greatest need. For those who are, it is their greatest blessing. Thank God for the rescue!

Seemingly impossible. Against all odds. In other words, the probability of a positive outcome is almost non-existent. The thing is though, the odds don't account for the God-factor. With God, the unlikely becomes possible!

 

"Is there not a cause?" This question precedes the familiar story of David and Goliath found in the book of First Samuel. The pastor's wife, Theresa, uses it to address three important areas concerning those who belong to Jesus.

The devil is a fisher of men. When you look in his tackle box, you will find just three lures. He used them on Adam and Eve in the beginning. He used them on Jesus in the wilderness. And he uses the same three lures on men today.

Is it possible to be a friend of God? And if so, how do you become God's friend? Is it the same as being saved? In addition to addressing these questions, this message also gives some insight on our earthly friendships.

The Day of Pentecost is about the spread of the gospel and the mark of a new era. Previously, God dwelt with and among His people, the nation of Israel. Now, by His Spirit, God dwells within the individual, and all are invited.

"Well done, good and faithful servant." We find these words in a story told by Jesus. The 'well done' marks an event that came "after a long time." There is unseen process that is needful, making the event possible and worthwhile.

2 Timothy 1:7 tells us God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. This doesn't mean we'll never deal with fear, but it lets us know the source of fear. It's a tactic of our enemy, the devil.

With the Master's golf tournament concluding today, this message parallels the game of golf to living the Christian life.
